Creating Vibrant Community Center
The remodeling upgrade targeted the hub of the Brighton Court Senior Living Community, creating activity spaces and transforming central commons into a space for informal socializing and people watching. Sechrist Design was responsible for the space planning and design of all the public spaces including lobby, bistro, salon, gym, restaurant, theater, multi-purpose art and activity rooms, staff lounge and game room.
Encouraging Social Connection & Wellness
The bright, attractive atmosphere encouraged use by residents creating a new community culture, where residents spend the majority of their day in community, outside their units. Increased staff functionality was also an important design objective, creating a very staff-friendly work environment.
Use of Space, Light, Color, and Materials
Bright, warm colors, wood, and accent lighting were used to draw residents to the bistro and adjacent lounge, where a variety of seating opportunities made these favorite spaces for meeting friends and all types of social activities.
